All About Me
Hello. My name is Claire Keum. I am a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati as of April 2022. I majored in Medical Sciences in the College of Medicine with a minor in Public Health and a certificate in Minority Health. I chose Medical Sciences because I have a passion for healthcare and hope to become a pediatrician in the future and I chose Public Health because I am an advocate for health equity. I am studying minority health because I have a huge passion for diversity and inclusion and want to work to reduce health disparities in my career. I am a Honors student in the University Honors Program, a Darwin T. Turner Scholar, and a Cincinnatus Excellence Scholar.
I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Akron, Ohio where I attended Hillcrest Elementary School, then I moved to Lakewood, Ohio where I attended Emerson Elementary School. Finally, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I attended Meyzeek Middle School and graduated with honors from Ballard High School in 2018 as salutatorian of my class. Now, I have returned to my city of birth and attend the University of Cincinnati.
My interests and hobbies include traveling, reading, listening to music, and watching Netflix. I am always open to discovering new things so feel free to recommend me places to go, books to read, music to listen to, and shows to watch. I am a huge fan of Marvel. I am Korean-American and I travel back to my mother country every summer. I love my home country and definitely recommend others to go visit. I am fluent in English and Korean and plan to learn more languages. I also can play the flute and the piano. I love my family which is composed of my mom, my dad, my older brother, and my little brother.
